On 14 March 2026, Boristene organized the memorial performance “Souls of Mariupol” in Piazza della Scala, Milan.
The event was dedicated to the memory of civilians killed in the Russian airstrike on the Mariupol Drama Theatre on 16 March 2022.
Participants gathered in front of La Scala and formed the word “DETI” (“CHILDREN”) in large letters, recreating the warning that had been placed outside the Mariupol theatre in 2022.
The performance was documented from the ground and from the air. It concluded with the symbolic release of 300 white balloons representing the souls of those who lost their lives in Mariupol.
