About project
Since 2022, Boristene has developed a long-term programme of cultural diplomacy and public advocacy in Italy.
The initiative works with Italian journalists, cultural professionals, academics, institutions, artists and wider audiences to improve understanding of Ukraine, its history and its cultural identity.
Boristene’s work includes public events, media engagement, cultural festivals, lectures, performances and professional collaborations. A central focus is presenting Ukrainian culture as an independent and integral part of the European cultural space while addressing long-standing misconceptions and distorted narratives about Ukraine.
The programme also creates direct connections between Ukrainian and Italian professionals, encouraging them to become partners and ambassadors for Ukrainian culture within their own communities and industries.
Through this work, Boristene seeks to make Ukraine more visible, understandable and culturally familiar to European audiences.
